Mattering…

Life has a funny way of working out.  You establish plans and they don’t always go the way we think.  That is what keeps life interesting.  Things happen that are out of our control, and that is okay.  It is how we manage these unforeseen situations.  That is what is most important.

I have had mixed emotions throughout my recent search.  There have been some really low valleys and there have been some really high peaks.  I am happy to say that I have been experiencing a lot more of the latter than the former the past few weeks.  Yes, I am still searching.  Recently, there have been some great potential opportunities that have come to light.  In the meantime, I have been selected for a couple of professional development opportunities that are really exciting.

After months of rejection, it is nice to be chosen for something.  It feels good to feel wanted.  It changes your perspective on yourself.  It provides an instant pick-up.  A caffeine jolt to your confidence.  It permeates all aspects of your life.  Everything seems more exciting.  A small victory here and there is necessary.

To get a positive response from an opportunity, it makes you feel as if you matter.  And isn’t that what we all want in life?  To feel like we have meaning, that we matter.

  1. I’m glad things are looking-up! Now, when you can share those PD opportunities with us. You know I’m a PD junkie!
